Carding has begun!
It was rather busy here last week as the kids had final exams. It seemed like I was always in the car taking some to the school or picking someone up. It certainly cut into my work day.
However, I did manage to finish washing up the Shetland fleece and start carding it. I took an afternoon to make my new and favourite spinning tool.

This is my new combination diz and plying template in action. I use it to take my fibre off the drum carder in a roving form instead of a batt.

I must confess that not a lot of knitting has been happening around here. I did work a little on a project for publication but very little personal knitting. I don't quite know why that is except that maybe I only have winter projects on the go. My fingers keep telling me they want to knit a lovely cotton summer top. Rebellion?

You rebel! I have the makings of a cotton tank top in my stash and my mind keeps wandering to it too. I think I should probably put the afghan away and just knit it in the hopes it'll be done in time to wear it at least once while it is still summer.
The shetland looks terrific - I look forward to hearing how it spins up.
